Pequevisitas launches ‘Los Centinelas del Quebrantahuesos’.

Pequevisitas launches “The Sentinels of the Bearded Vulture”, a new challenge aimed at family tourism, which takes place in the countryside, around the Ecomuseum of Ainsa, ideal for a good time with the family. Pequevisitas, the Aragonese ensign specialized in family tourism, which was selected as a Finalist for the Best Tourism Experience Award of Aragon 2023, has created “The Sentinels of the Bearded Vulture” for the Ecomuseum of Ainsa, which is managed by the Foundation for the Conservation of the Bearded Vulture. With this new proposal, Pequevisitas proposes a totally free and self-guided activity, designed to enjoy the splendid natural environment of Aínsa with family or school groups. With its usual format of didactic and interactive game, families and children can make a pleasant and fun route through nature, outdoors, learn more about the bearded vulture, one of the most representative animals of the Aragonese Pyrenees, and discover curiosities about its mountains, valleys, vegetation or fossils. This is an adventure in which children become observers of the environment, as they are asked questions to which they must give answers as they follow the proposed route. In addition, along the way they are also offered some additional activities and suggestions to further enjoy this wonderful natural environment. This initiative has been financed within the framework of the Scientific Ecotourism Experiences in Spain (EECEE) project, funded by the European Union under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan promoted by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Government of Spain. With the design of “The Bearded Vulture Sentinels” for the Aínsa Ecomuseum, there are now three Pequevisitas challenges in Aínsa Sobrarbe, together with the already implemented “Rescue the jewels of the Kingdom” in the Village of Aínsa, and “The Chest of the three keys”, the Pequevisitas box to enjoy with the family the tourist and cultural attractions of six of the most beautiful and interesting towns in the municipality of Aínsa-Sobrarbe (Banastón, Gerbe, Olsón, Arcusa, Santa María de Buil and Guaso).

“The Sentinels of the Bearded Vulture”, an adventure related to the work carried out by the Foundation for the Conservation of the Bearded Vulture.

The activity is presented by Jorge and Pilar, two biologists from the Foundation for the Conservation of the Bearded Vulture, who are trying to locate a wounded bearded vulture in the surroundings of Aínsa. A few days ago, while carrying out one of their usual birdwatching tasks near the Peña Montañesa, they noticed a bearded vulture that, by the way it was flying, seemed to be injured. Since then they have not seen it again and its trail has been lost. These two biologists encourage the younger ones to find out where it is, and that they can notify the Foundation to come and pick it up. In this way, they will be able to provide him with the necessary care until he recovers and is returned to his natural habitat.
