Among the birds, through the Sierra de Partara.

Presentation in Aragón of the “Declaration on the management of large forest fires in Spain”.

It is undeniable that Spain is facing a complex problem that is worsening day by day with climate change. Large forest fires make the front pages of the news, serve as content to feed social networks, and civil society demands solutions. It has been demonstrated that simple solutions based on beliefs and myths, with biased discourses that sometimes leave science and experience aside, are no longer useful. As a society, we have the responsibility to decide how to face a situation that worsens year after year and that, according to all forecasts, will tend to worsen. For this reason, over the course of six months, more than 60 experts from the forest fire community, coordinated by the Pau Costa Foundation, have been working to identify the urgent needs and commitments that must be made to address major forest fires. In order to draw up conclusions, in March 2023 they met in Madrid for two intense days in the “Forum for debate and proposals for action for the management of large forest fires in Spain”. The conclusions of this work were collected in the “Declaration on the management of large forest fires in Spain” and have been presented publicly in different autonomous communities. This time we present the Declaration publicly in Aragon, in collaboration with the Foundation for the Conservation of the Bearded Vulture.
