Borda Project: initiatives for rural development through nature conservation.
Under the project title “Borda: initiatives for rural development through nature conservation in the Pyrenees”, a series of management, education and environmental conservation experiences were initiated, compatible with the maintenance of agricultural and livestock activities. through the conservation of the biological and landscape diversity that the Pyrenees house. The “Borda” project is something more, it is an attempt to reconcile with nature that has been a source of resources for Pyrenean man for centuries, maintaining these mountains as a perfect example of an agrosystem. The area chosen for the development of this project is located on the southern face of Peña Montañesa, next to the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, known in the Sobrarbe region by the nickname “Bajo Peñas”. It includes part of the Municipal Terms. of El Pueyo de Araguás and La Fueva and more specifically the surroundings of the villages of San Lorien, Aragúas, Torrelisa, el Plano, La Muera, los Molinos, Oncins, San Vitorian, la Mula, Molinias, La Mariñosa, Mediano, San Juan from Toledo de la Nata and Cabezonada.
