The Council of Ministers authorizes the construction of the Maestrazgo Cluster with the support of the PSOE and the opposition of Sumar.

Jorge Pueyo (CHA) says that what happened “strained” relations with the socialists, whom he accuses of “lying” and making a “false ecological transition” The authorization for the construction of the Maestrazgo Cluster has been approved Tuesday by the Council of Ministers, but has further strained relations between the PSOE and Sumar within the coalition government, as it has gone ahead only with the support of the socialists while the latter have opposed. The deputies of Sumar Jorge Pueyo (CHA) and Águeda Micó (Compromís) have appeared at a press conference in Congress to denounce this “speculation project” and “unprotection of the territory”, in addition to accusing the Socialists of carrying out a “false ecological transition” with the sole interest of placing political “ex-leaders” on the boards of directors of electric companies. Pueyo and Micó have explained that in the meeting of the Council of Ministers both the vice-president and the ministers of Sumar opposed and tried to convince the rest of the Government of the error that this authorization implies. They also criticized the general secretary of the Valencian socialists, Diana Morant, for having also supported the authorization when days before the PSPV was against it. The two parliamentarians of CHA and Compromís explained that they had “insisted” and “warned of the destruction” that this project will entail, and stressed that what happened “makes us tense with the Socialist Party Government”, whose speeches they said were “lies” because they do not attend to territorial rebalancing policies but to take advantage of depopulated areas.
