Sobrarbe Agrodiverse Cooperative Group.
In order to diversify the agricultural activity in mountain areas, the Sobrarbe Agrodiverse and Sustainable Cooperation Group was set up in 2017, formed by the Sobrarbe Agricultural Limited Cooperative Society (SCLAS), the Association un Paso Atrás, the Center for Rural and Agronomic Studies International (CERAI), the FCQ, the Aínsa-Sobrarbe Town Council, the Boltaña Town Council, the Sobrarbe County Council, the Agrifood Research and Technology Center of Aragon (CITA), the Agrifood Transfer Center (CTA) and Sara Nevado (farmer from Buerba).
The Group is funded by the Rural Development Program (RDP) 2014-2020.
Different actions have already been carried out: presentation of the project at the Sobrarbe Expoferia (September 2017), composting courses (Aínsa, September 2017), training courses on potato and bean cultivation (Boltaña, October 2017), prospecting and selection of local varieties for fruit tree plantations (apple trees 2018), drafting of the project for the operation of the demonstration farms.
In 2019, biodiversity structures will be designed (nest boxes, insect hotels, hedges, flower strips, CERAI and FCQ) and a program of educational visits to the demonstration farms. https://cerai.org/tag/sobrarbe-agrodiverso-y-sostenible/
