Description

Since 1995, the FCQ and the Department of Environment of the Government of Aragon have been systematically recording information on contact observations obtained from Bearded Vulture(Gypaetus barbatus) specimens that have been marked using different techniques (wing bands, radio-emitter, etc.).
A detailed database of nearly 5000 geo-referenced records from a sample of 66 specimens is now analyzed, for the first time and using GIS technology, from the point of view of their spatio-temporal distribution in the Pyrenees, offering a novel cartographic vision of the dispersive movements that can make possible the establishment of seasonal patterns of land use with implications for the development of conservation and management strategies for the bearded vulture in the Pyrenees and for the reintroduction of the species in other mountain territories of the Iberian Peninsula.
The book consists of 111 pages illustrated in full color.
It is a soft cover edition with landscape format 26cm x 19 cm.
